FR#1225
1900 $10,000 Gold Cert. with Matching signature Philladelphia
National
Grade:
XF and National is Fine
Price: NFS
Description: I purchesed the $10,000 about 2
years ago, I always found the ones cashed at banks more interesting,
all the notes that were cashed at banks had the larger holes
in them. In the middle of the note you can see that this $10,000
note was cashed at the "Farmers & Mechanics N Philadelphia
Pa OCT 29 1908." On the back of the note you can see this
note was hand signed by the Cashier at the time it was cashed,
the name looks like "H.B. Baitour". I knew that this
bank printed nationals and thought it would be cool to have
a matching national from the same bank. After finding the note
I was amazed to see that the Cashier's signature on the national
was the same as the hand signed signature on the back of the
$10,000 note(see close up scan of signatures below). I showed
this set to many dealers and a very well known auction house,
none of them had ever seen a set like this before.
